DOG and CAT VACCINATIONS

 
DOGS
DHLP-P
Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus. Vaccine begun at 2 months of age, given every 3-4 weeks, until 4 months of age. Then give every year. Can be given at 6 weeks of age if necessary, and if begun after 3 months of age only 2 vaccinations, 3-4 weeks apart, are given.
 
RABIES
Give first vaccination at 4 months of age, then 1 year later. After that give every 3 years.
 
LYME
Given to animals at risk only. Begin at 3 months of age or older. Give 2 vaccinations, 2 weeks apart. Then give once a year.
 
HEARTWORM TESTING
Test dog before putting on a preventative, if dog is over 8 months of age. Then retest each year. Always keep on preventative. Puppies start at 6 weeks old.
CATS
PRC
Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, Calcivirus Vaccine begun at 2 months of age, given every 3-4 weeks until 4 monts of age. Then given every year. Can be given at 6 weeks of age if necessary and if begun after 3 months of age only 2 vaccines, 3-4 weeks apart, are given.

Give first vaccination at 3 1/2 months of age, then 1 year later. After that give every 3 years.
 
LEUKEMIA
Best to test before vaccinating. Begin at 9 weeks of age and give 2 vaccines, 3 weeks apart. Then give every year.
